My Path to Shamanic Healing
My path toward shamanism began long before I had words for it.
As a child, I would drift into other realms at night — places woven with presence. In my family’s religious home, these journeys were not easily understood. Yet one of my elders recognized what stirred within me and began to teach me of the unseen — that we dwell not only in the world of matter, but in the vast expanse of spirit.
Those early teachings became a quiet compass. Over the years, they guided me toward a deeper inquiry into the nature of healing and the mystery of being. I came to understand that these journeys were not dreams, but doorways — pathways to the spirit worlds that shamans have walked since time immemorial.
My practice of shamanic healing was further shaped by my longtime teacher, Jeffrey Yuen, a Daoist priest of the Jade Purity Tradition. From him I learned that medicine is more than the tending of the body — it is a way of harmonizing Heaven and Earth within the human soul. He taught me to enter sacred space, to listen to the language of spirit, and to honor the unseen forces that guide true healing.
In time, my search led me to The Foundation for Shamanic Studies, where I found both the structure and community to explore these realms with clarity and purpose. Through the Foundation’s teachings, I learned to navigate the many worlds that coexist with our own — worlds filled with compassion, guidance, and endless possibility. My helping spirits have become steadfast allies in this work, strengthening my soul and deepening my capacity to serve.
Today, I am honored to teach as a Guest Faculty Member of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, founded by Michael and Sandra Harner. I offer classes and workshops in Portland, Oregon, where others can learn to walk the path of direct experience and spirit-led healing. My training includes the Two-Week Healing Intensive with Robbie Staufer and the Three-Year Program of Advanced Initiations in Shamanism and Shamanic Healing with Susan Mokelke.

Alongside this work, I serve as a faculty member at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, teaching within the Classical Chinese Medicine program. In my private practice, I integrate Chinese medicine and Fascial Counterstrain to help patients rediscover balance, vitality, and connection — the same harmony that flows through all realms, seen and unseen.
